Research group presentation Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) - Laboratory of aquatic ecology Presentation The genome integrates the evolutionary and ecological dynamics of a species on a local, regional and global scale. The evaluation of the genotypic and phenotypic patterns helps to understand evolutionary processes. A typical analysis involves genotyping with molecular markers as well as the characterisation of phenotypic traits and the habitat. Experimental and simulation approaches complement the field observations. In order to have a better sampling of the full genome, we incorporate genomic tools (eg European sea bass) in our approach Model organisms are monogenean parasites, crustaceans (Penaeus) and fishes.
