Scientist presentation

De Wever Aaike
Dr

After his PhD on the microbial food web in the tropical Lake Tanganyika (in collaboration with the CLIMLAKE-project), Aaike De Wever started working on microbial diversity and geography in the Antarctica using both morphological and molecular methods in the framework of the AMBIO-project.

Activities

  • Research programme: CLIMLAKE – AMBIO
  • Research group: Universiteit Gent (UG) - Protistology and Aquatic Ecology
  • Research projects:
    - Antarctic microbial biodiversity: the importance of geographical and ecological factors (AMBIO)
  • Related activities:
    - member of BYSC
