Research Interests and projects, mostly on geochemical proxies

  • Since 2000: silicon cycle
    • Use of silicon isotopes as tracer of biogeochemical processes in central Africa: Lake Tanganyika (CLIMLAKE), phytoliths and soils (Banana) and Congo River
    • Silicon isotopes as tracer of relative Si utilisation in the Southern Ocean (BELCANTO, EUR-OCEANS)
  • Since 1998: Barite in the Southern Ocean as a tracer of carbon remineralisation in the twilight zone (BELCANTO, EUR-OCEANS)
  • 1996-1997: Redox-sensitive elements in the Arabian Sea as tracers of the Oxygen Minimum Zone (National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, India)
  • 1992-1996: Trace elements (Cd, Sr, U) in marine biogenic carbonates (corals and planktonic foraminifera) as paleoenvironmental proxies (U. Aix-Marseille III)

Education

  • 1996. Ph. D. in Sciences (Environmental Geosciences and Geochemistry), CEREGE -U. Aix-Marseille III (Aix-en-Provence)
  • 1992. D.E.A. in Environmental Chemistry and Health, GEOTOP - UQAM (Montreal) & U. de Provence (Marseille)
