A local production unit is defined as a business or part of a business situated at a topographically identified site. This notion is not clearly implemented in Belgian administrative statistics. It would be useful to have a directory allowing the management of modalities for the identification of local production units. This will allow Belgium to meet the international statistics standards and shall also open interesting research directions.
Implementation:
Methodological support is needed to select the management modalities of local units identification within the Business Directory Unit of the NIS. The expected final product will be a report with guidelines and recommendations. The resulting local unit directory that might be created will be integrated into the DBRIS business directory of the NIS/INS and will be used a.o. as a basis for elaborating statistics on local units.
