Research project AS/DD/11 (Research action AS)
1. General context
The aim of this project is to investigate communication (between Belgian researchers, their clients and other potential users) and valorise scientific research in the field of sustainable development - a highly specific issue that is difficult to delineate, is less strictly regulated, warrants an inter-disciplinary approach, etc. To this end, spoken interviews were conducted with both researchers as well as social actors (trade unions, employer organisations, NGOs, etc.) active in the field of "sustainable development indicators" or within the topic of "sustainable food". A literary study was also conducted into a broad range of more recent communication forms and methods. This project’s recommendations, which refer to all phases of scientific research (from formulation of a programme through to reporting and communicating its contents), stem from the pairing of results from the interviews, which assessed the mutual expectations of actors from the research and consumer sphere, and the literary study.

Recommendations that form an opening initiative on improving communication and valorising scientific research in respect of sustainable development.
3. (Potential) users
OSTC, government administrations, social actors (NGOs, trade unions, employer organisations, professional federations, councils, etc.) and researchers.
