Description :

The biomedical fungi and yeasts collection BCCM/IHEM contains around 4,000 fungi and 1,400 yeasts which are important for public health, including fungi which are allergenic, mycotoxicogenic and pathogenic for humans and animals.
There are major subcollections of Candida and Aspergillus, Dematieaeand keratinophilic fungi.

The biomedical fungi and yeasts collection BCCM/IHEM forms part of a consortium of service-providing collections, the Belgian Co-ordinated Collections of Micro-organisms, which also includes the (agro-)industrial fungi/yeasts collection BCCM/MUCL, the bacteria collection BCCM/LMG and the plasmids collection BCCM/LMBP.
