Standardisation of a digital counter for citizens and XML data exchange - Cluster of expertise (One-phase project :December 2001 - November 2003)

Research project I2/CE/110 (Research action I2)

Contract I2/CE/110 :

Duration of the contract :

1/11/2001-31/10/2003

Partners :

  • Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Coordinator of the project)
  • Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix

Description :

The project represents the application project’s cluster of expertise. Both are geared to the production of a standardised municipal counter for citizens and of standardised data exchange using XML between government administrations.
The expertise pole provides the application project with technical and legal support and also carries out more detailed research within that framework. In this instance, support and corresponding research have three components:

1) instructions and studies regarding XML’s use within the various data exchanges being considered by the application project,
2) synchronisation with other Belgian projects in relation to "e-government" and a technical and legal study of XML data exchange security using XML signatures, and
3) a legal study of relevant aspects relating to the protection of an individual’s private life and the fight against computer crime.
