To lower the utilization threshold of parallel machines, object-oriented and image synthesis software programs are being developed with a view to simulating modular neural networks on a transputer. Modelling of the mapping and breakdown of problems on the machine should lead to automation of the decomposition and mapping process, making it transparent for both the end user and the experienced programmer.
