An artificially modulated structure (or multilayer) is constructed by the subsequent deposition of two different materials.
Over the last year there are been a lot of interest for this new class of materials because of their structural, electronic, magnetic and superconduction properties.
The factor we want to investigate here is the interdiffusion, i.e. the process that gradually changes the composition profile from a square wave to a sinusoidal composition profile.
