Description :

Anatomo-pathological and toxicological examinations are performed on sea birds and sea mammals found dead in the North Sea and adjoining areas in order to investigate:

1. what are the causes of death and the general state of health of the sea bird and sea mammal populations;

2. what connection exists between the degree of pollution of the marine ecosystem and the contamination levels among marine top predators;

3. what accumulation, excretion and detoxification mechanisms exist among top predators in the marine ecosystem for stable residues.
