Description :

The study consists of introducing the application of the future ISO 14000 standards in 8 pilot businesses, given that quality management systems are widely accepted in Belgium.

Environmental management systems and the EU's SMEA regulation constitute outstanding instruments for deregulation. They make business responsible in environmental matters. In so doing, they not only strengthen trust between governmental authorities and business but are also an initiator of sustainable development.

Implementation will follow the ISO 9001 structure for quality management systems which is extremely well known and widely applied in this country. This will facilitate establishing the ISO 14000 standards throughout business in Belgium.
