Research project P3/43 (Research action P3)
OBJECTIVES.
Better understanding of the phenomena involved in the production of energy by stars and in the synthesis of elements in our universe (nuclear astrophysics), investigation of the isospin degrees of freedom in nuclear forces and study of "exotic" nuclei, i.e. far from the stability line (nuclear structure).
THEME.
Experimental study of nuclear reactions between light radioactive nuclei and protons or alpha particles playing an important role in many stellar phenomena of explosive character (novae, supernovae...). Experimental studies on the nuclear spectroscopy of exotic nuclei and on nuclear reactions induced by radioactive nuclei. Theoretical studies of stellar events implying radioactive nuclei, of the structure of exotic nuclei and of nuclear reactions between light nuclei.
