Research project PE/MO/03 (Research action PE)
The research involves establishing an econometric model that will give an idea of the structure of health care and of its links with the economy. Special attention will be given to modelling the demand for various types of medical care, to how prices are set in this area, to employment, and to the interactions of this sub-model. The model implies the complete endogenisation of health insurance (INAMI) expenditure in the framework of the HERMES models, and translates the relationships between employment and the principal categories of health care providers.
