Description :

Hot stars have stellar winds which show evidence of structure. Observations at long wavelengths (infrared to radio) allow us to scan through the wind, and thus study this structure as a function of distance.

ISOPHOT observations were obtained, which should give information about the inner part of the wind. Considerable difficulties were experienced in the reduction of these data. Using archive data, we were able to get a better understanding of the behaviour of the ISOPHOT-C100 camera. Observations at millimetre and radio wavelengths were also obtained. These indicate that structure decreases with distance in the stellar wind. Hydrodynamical simulations we made are in qualitative agreement with this conclusion.
