Description :

This research is an update of the CEDRES research. The latter’s starting hypothesis was as follows: ‘To meet the unmet needs that cannot be met by nursing staff (not to be found on the labour market), including nursing staff with mid-level qualifications in intensive care units seems to be a working solution, to the extent that it keeps specific nursing care in the nurses’ hands whilst freeing them of delegable tasks’.

This CEDRES research update does not start with the job and task descriptions so much as with the help and care that the various categories of nursing staff actually provide. Both direct aid and care and support activities are studied. The research’s study units are the care and life units, rather than individuals. This makes it possible to take stock of all forms of aid and care, including those provided by outside professionals and volunteers.
