Research project SS/D5/07 (Research action SS)
The project explores the determinants of employment demand and supply affecting workers aged over 50 years in a simultaneous model based on the following observations:
1. The ageing of the population can put pressure on the balance of social security and the national budget, and non-demographic responses appear a priori to be the most efficient means of dealing with this.
2. Measures to stimulate employment of the older active population have consisted solely of changes in social security and to pension payments in particular, although the impact of these measures on the supply of employment has been limited.
