Research project SS/S04 (Research action SS)
This resource centre integrates the information currently available from a variety of sources into a health information system that is readily accessible to potential users.
The resource centre:
- sets up an easy-to-consult documentary database in the field of "society and health" to support research at micro, meso and macro level;
- creates an integrated and fully automated statistical databank according to parameters and indicators relevant to research and policy at micro level;
- makes relevant information and statistical data in the sector accessible to the various levels of government (national, regional, provincial, etc.), with a view to management and decision-making, to the research sector with a view to further analysis, and to other users.
The resource centre uses a catalogue of existing information and documentation to help users find their way around the available material and documentation (centres).
The creation of a statistical database is intended in the first place to identify the existing statistical data that is currently spread between various ministries, semi-governmental institutions, universities and so on.
