Applied radar interferometry for neotectonic study in Jordan (complementary to FS/25)

Research project T4/DD/26 (Research action T4)

Persons :

Description :

The objective of this study is a safety report related to a dam construction in Jordan.

In those regions where the topographical or geological maps are not always available, incomplete or inaccurate, satellite data are often the only sources for geomorphological and natural risk surveys.

In the approach of this safety study, SAR interferometry is well suited for:

- the realisation of a DTM (Digital Terrain Model) of the dam site and the area;

- the identification on the radar image of potential active faults or landslides;

- the potential detection, by differential interferometry, of neotectonic movements.

in close collaboration and complementary to FS25.
