The Open Access Contact Persons are designated by each of the Orfeo partner institutions on a part time basis to provide the following services :
- Represent their institution in the Orfeo Committee
- Brief decision makers within their institution on Open Access matters
- Answer researchers' questions about Open Access
- If the institution's policy is to have individual researchers input their publications in Orfeo : Assist researchers
- If the institution's policy is to input publications by batch: Assist ICT
- Help determine a retroactive institutional inputting policy
- Update the institution's personalised interface on Orfeo
- Assist BELSPO at organising a yearly sensitising event for the institution's personnel
