What do we do?

The Visitors Observatory carries out research into the relationship between the 10 FSIs and their audience.

  • Museum Monitor:
    Since 2007, the Observatory has been responsible for the annual monitoring of the visitor (profiles) for the major museums and visitors’ centres maintained by the FSIs:
    • The Museum of Natural Sciences
    • The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (Museums of Ancient and Modern Art)
    • The Cinquantenaire Museum
    • The Royal Museum for Central Africa
    • The Musical Instrument Museum
    • The Magritte Museum (monitoring since 2011)
    • The Planetarium
  • Ad hoc audience and user research (often for exhibitions, smaller museums or FSIs that do not take part in the Museum monitor)
