Research context

The State Archives wanted to evaluate the services provided to the Federal administrations concerning the surveillance, advice and coordination of the acquirement and selection of their archives.
More in detail the idea was to evaluate the following aspects of the services provided:

  • Identification of the respondent / contact person;
  • The notoriety of the State Archives;
  • The communication and collaboration with the State Archives
  • The communication and collaboration with other actors in the field of Archiving
  • The expectations the federal departments have towards the State Archives;
  • Suggestions concerning the improvement of the online services
  • Remarks / suggestions

Method of data collection

A paper questionnaire was send to all concerned administrations and departments. 57 of the 143 questionnaires were completed. These 57 represent a response rate of 70%.

Research period

The survey was carried out between 1st of July and 10 November 2010.
