Project file - Audience and satisfaction survey Halle Gate (KMKG/MRAH) , 2012

Commissioner

  • Royal Museums of Art and History (KMKG-MRAH)
    • Halle Gate

Research context

The Halle Gate (Hallepoort/Porte de Hal) is a part of the Royal Museums for Art and History. The building is a remnant of the second ring of fortifications around Brussels. Since 1847 it has been a museum and it is known to the general public as a museum of weaponry. In early June 2008 the fully renovated Halle Gate opened with a contemporary, interactive exhibit on the Brussels fortifications and the role of the guilds in the city.
It was time for an initial evaluation of the renewed museum.

Aim

The aim of the study is to investigate what kind of visitor profiles the museum is attracting. Who are the current visitors? Where do they come from? What are their expectations and motivations? Etc. The aim is also to explore which profiles are represented less or not at all, and to determine the potential that the Halle Gate museum can tap into.
The survey is designed to enable a SWOT-analysis to be performed.
