The research programmes ensure multidisciplinarity and research in networks. They offer European research teams the possibility of linking with projects during calls for call for proposals and the Federal Science Policy of participating in the European Commission’s ERA NET approach.

Scientific diving

Scientific diving

  • A working group on scientific diving has been set up at the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO). The working group is composed of representatives of the different universities and scientific institutions concerned by scientific diving activities as well as the managers of the Belgian research vessels Belgica and Simon Stevin.

  • The DEFRA research programme results from a cooperation between the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) and the Royal Higher Institute for Defence (RHID).
ESFRI-FED (Structural programme in support of federal components of ESFRI research infrastructures)

ESFRI-FED (Structural programme in support of federal components of ESFRI research infrastructures)

  • The ESFRI-FED programme focuses on distributed and virtual ESFRI infrastructures. A distributed research infrastructure consists of a Central Hub and interlinked National Nodes, holding a unique specific name and legal status, and governance structure.

ERA-NETs (European Research Area Network)

  • The ERA-NET scheme is a highly innovative component of the European Union's (EU) Framework Programmes. The ERA-NET is designed to encourage the creation of close, long-term links between national research programmes with shared goals.
JPI

JPI (Joint Programming Initiatives)

  • The aim of JPI is to increase the value of relevant national and EU R&D funding by concerted and joint planning, implementation and evaluation of national research programmes.
