Workshop on Ageing workforces
Presentation of the results of the research project AGEPROD
The European population is ageing due to demographic changes, so does the workforce of European firms. Such a trend is likely to remain for the foreseeable future and it will be reinforced by the willingness of public authorities to expand employment among individuals aged 50 or more. But are employers willing to employ older workers? A one-day workshop focussing on the labour market implications of ageing and the employability of older individuals will be held at the Université Catholique de Louvain

Great Lakes Conference: People and power in Transition
Presentation of the results of the research project RDCO
The people living in Central African Countries are facing key development challenges related to the transition of power structures in response to local, national and global pressures: is this a transition towards more representative, inclusive and accountable governance? How to promote representative and accountable governing structures (political legitimacy and accountability and how elections can contribute), in order for the country to be able to deal with a legacy of past human rights abuses in a way that promotes justice, reconciliation and the rule of law, to deliver public services, and to conduct inclusive and pro-poor development processes? The conference wants to reach a broad audience, including senior and junior academic scholars, and policy makers from the North and the South (specifically from within the region).
