INFO GENERATION - Development Program for Youth Information

The «Info Generation» project involves 2 types of partners coming from the 3 linguistic communities. Firstly, the « user » organisations (the FIJWB, the SIEP, the CIDJ, the IJ, the DG of Culture of the Ministry of the French Community, Info AG in the German-speaking Community, and In Petto in Flanders). Secondly, the technical and scientific partners ( the CESEP, the LENTIC and the CRID). A monitoring committee composed of external experts support the partnership.

The project breaks down into two phases, the first of which, from November 2003 to September 2005, is essentially devoted to identifying the existing resources already possessed by each of the partners. With the active participation of the technical and scientific partners, each will examine its experiences and practices in order to highlight possible complementarities with regard to data, tools and organisational arrangements.

The results expected from the project are of three kinds. Firstly they must facilitate the implementation of collaboration among the players of youth information, after which they will develop cooperation with regard to sharing and producing information. Finally, they will promote tools basing themselves on ICT to support the cooperative production and sharing of information.

The second phase of the project bears on the organisational and technical establishment of the youth information networks defined in the first phase. It should permit a broader dissemination of these accomplishments to other European youth information networks. In addition to consolidating the partnership, the project aims to open up this same partnership and promulgate the results towards other organisations outside the youth sector. Indeed, the experience developed in common should enrich other experiences, even outside the non-commercial sector.
