Research project MO/33/001 (Research action MO)
The proposal is to develop the analysis methods for the gravity and magnetic anomaly maps obtained from the validated data of the Royal Observatory of Belgium. The combined interpretation of potential field data with data from subsurface or surface geology and seismology shall lead us to a better understanding of the deep crustals structures of our seismology shall lead us to a better understanding of the deep crustals structures of our country and the surrounding areas. This approach shall build the bridge between geology and geophysics which in regards of the wavelengths allows us to study the crust at different depths. A particular attention shall be given to the weak zones tectonicaly active and sources of earthquakes.
