ESA seeks new astronauts

The European Space Agency (ESA) is currently recruiting new Astronauts for the first time in 11 years.  
The vacancy  is currently open and runs until the 28th of May 2021.

To provide potential Belgian candidates with more information about this exciting opportunity, ESA and BELSPO will organise an information event on the 60th anniversary of the first human in space: Monday the 12th of April from 11:00 to 12:00.

The following speakers will contribute in person:

  • Thomas Dermine, State Secretary for Science Policy, Recovery Program and Strategic Investments;
  • Frank De Winne, ESA Astronaut and head of the European Astronaut Centre;
  • Angelique Van Ombergen, ESA science coordinator for human research.

Including video message by Samantha Cristoforetti, ESA Astronaut, scheduled for her second flight to the International Space Station in 2022.
