Concertation with the authorities

  • The mission of BELSPO is to organise federal consultation in R&D in order to exchange information relating to policies led by the various Belgian authorities and to determine common stances: IMCSP • CIS-CFS • ICSP.
European co-operation

European co-operation

  • BELSPO coordinates, with the Communities and Regions, the Belgian participation to the management of european programmes (Horizon Europe • COST • EUREKA), european infra­structure (EMBL• ILL) and covers the Belgian annual contribution to the ESFRI research infrastructures.
Bilateral co-operation

Bilateral co-operation

  • BELSPO is responsible for coordinating the preparation and the follow-up for the scientific section of the bilateral agreements for economic, industrial, scientific and technological cooperation which Belgium has concluded with China • Vietnam • India • South Afrika.
Extra-european co-operation

Other multilateral international cooperation

  • The international R&D co-operation was elaborated under different specific schemes and with different organisations. The Belgian Science Policy Office plays the role of coordinator, participant and/or financier for OECD • UNESCO • ERAfrica • ERANet-LAC.

Federal Council for Science Policy

  • The Federal Science Policy Council is an advisory body on the Federal Government's science policy. Its secretariat is provided by BELSPO.

Two reports produced by the Global Science Forum of the OECD were just released. Belgium participated in these reports which include examples of cases and important recommendations for policy makers, funding agencies and researchers.
