| Description nl | Dit project heeft tot doel de materiële levensomstandigheden van de inwoners van de centrale regio van Peru te verbeteren, met name de bouw van goedkope woningen in landelijke Andesgebieden door de ontwikkeling van goedkope bouwmaterialen gemaakt van composieten versterkt met ichu-vezels, die lokaal beschikbaar zijn. Deze lokale vezels dienen niet alleen als de versterkende fase van het composietmateriaal, maar voegen ook thermische isolatie-eigenschappen toe, waardoor het effect van de extreme weersomstandigheden in de regio wordt verminderd.Dit doel wordt bereikt door de infrastructuur en de menselijke capaciteit van lokale onderzoekers van de National University of Central Peru (UNCP) te versterken. Er wordt een permanente onderzoeksgroep opgericht die zich richt op nieuwe biocomposieten die zijn versterkt met lokale natuurlijke vezels. Onderzoekers zullen worden opgeleid in de modernste technologieën voor composietontwikkeling en productie. Bovendien zullen de directe begunstigden (inwoners van Andesgemeenschappen) ook een speciale opleiding krijgen om de nieuwe duurzame bouwtechnologie op te nemen

| Description en | This project aims to improve the material living conditions of the inhabitants of the central Peru region, in particular the construction of inexpensive housing in rural Andean areas via the development of low cost building materials made of composites reinforced with ichu fibres, which are locally available. These local fibres serve not only as the reinforcing phase of the composite material, but also add thermal insulation properties, reducing the effect of the extreme weather conditions of the region.This objective will be achieved by strengthening the infrastructure and human capacity of local researchers at National University of Central Peru (UNCP). A permanent research group dedicated to novel bio composites reinforced by local natural fibres will be established. Researchers will be trained in state-of-the-art technologies for composite development and manufacturing. Moreover, the direct beneficiaries (inhabitants of Andean communities) will also receive special training in order to take up the new sustainable building technology
