| Description nl | Ons doel is om histopathologisch bewijs te leveren voor een rol van gewrichtsvetkussen bij de ontwikkeling van posttraumatische artrose van de enkel. We zullen deze vetkussentjes bestuderen in gezonde, posttraumatische en in eindstadium oslosteoartritis enkels. We kunnen ook bewijs leveren voor potentiële therpeutische middelen. Deze gegevens zullen nuttig zijn voor het ontwerp van gerandomiseerde klinische onderzoeken die middelen onderzoeken die posttraumatische ontsteking en uiteindelijk de progressie naar artrose kunnen verminderen.

| Description en | Our aim is to provide histopathological evidence for a role of articular fat pads in the development of posttraumatic ankle osteoarthritis. We will study these fat padsin healthy, posttraumatic and in end stage oslosteoarthritis ankles. We may also provide proof of evidence for potential therpeutic agents. These data will be useful for the design of randomized clinical trials that investigate agents that can decrease posttraumatic inflammation and eventually the progression to osteoarthritis.
