BCCM

BCCM (Belgian Coordinated Collections of Micro-organisms)

  • The BCCM consortium has the task to support the research, development and innovation activities of the life sciences and biotechnology sector.
RV Belgica

RV Belgica

  • The research vessel Belgica was built in 2021. This new multidisciplinary research vessel will support scientific research as well as this country's national and international obligations for monitoring the Belgian marine space for the next 30 years.
Biodiversity

Biodiversity (Belgian Biodiversity Platform)

  • The Belgian Biodiversity Platform is a science-policy interface, acting as a knowledge broker towards international bodies, catalysing the dialogue between scientists, decision-makers and practitioners, mobilising data and helping the scientific community.
Prinsess Elisabeth Station

Princess Elisabeth Station

  • Since 2009, Belgium has again a scientific station in Antarctica. The Princess Elisabeth Base was built in Dronning Maud Land, East-Antarctica. The research station is build on rocks so it would not drift to the coast. The basis works on sustainable energy from solar panels and wind turbines.
