Seminarie over het gebruik van de nieuwe psychoactieve stoffen (in België) - 22-09-2017
Het DRUGROOM Project organiseert een seminarie op 22 september bij de FOD Volksgezondheid om experts aan te trekken bij enige delen van het project. Bent u een expert in een drug-gerelateerde dienst en hebt u te maken met gebruikers van NPS? Wilt u uw ervaring delen met de ploeg? Heeft u vragen?
Het onderzoeksteam ziet dit seminarie als een belangrijk moment in het project om de acteurs te benaderen en samen te werken in het kader van hun onderzoek.

The DRUGROOM project organises a seminar this 22 september at the FPS Health in order to recruit experts to collaborate to the research. Are you a professional working in drug-related services in Belgium and do you encounter the use of new substances users? Do you feel like sharing your expertise and thoughts with us? Do you have specific questions, comments or valuable input? We are keen to learn what your experience is in NPS-related interventions! The staff of the NPS-care research project considers the seminar as an opportunity to recruit Belgian professionals who are interested to participate in a future Work Package (WP) of the project.

21.06.2021 - Afbouw chronisch gebruik slaap- en kalmeringsmiddelen: nood aan brede aanpak
Onderzoek van UGent bij chronische gebruikers van slaap- en kalmeringsmiddelen toont aan dat bestaande preventiecampagnes en maatregelen die doelgroep onvoldoende bereiken. Ondanks de normalisering en hoge consumptie van benzodiazepines en aanverwanten onder de Belgische bevolking, bemoeilijkt schaamte het vinden van gepaste hulp bij afbouw. Bestaande campagnes blijken hier opvallend genoeg aan bij te dragen.

21.06.2021 - Réduire l'utilisation chronique de somnifères et de sédatifs : de la nécessité d'une approche globale
Une recherche menée à l'UGent parmi les utilisateurs chroniques de somnifères et de sédatifs montre que les campagnes et mesures de prévention existantes ne touchent pas suffisamment ce groupe cible. Malgré la normalisation et la forte consommation de benzodiazépines et de substances apparentées au sein de la population belge, la honte rend difficile la recherche d'une aide appropriée pour en arrêter la consommation. Les campagnes existantes semblent contribuer à ce problème.

Persbericht (04-10-2021): Jongeren die geneesmiddelen niet-medisch gebruiken (YOUTH-PUMED)
Een studie van Universiteit Gent, VIVES Hogeschool en Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles laat zien dat het niet-medisch gebruik van psychoactieve medicatie bij jongvolwassenen een heterogeen fenomeen is. De jongvolwassenen (18-29 jaar) in het onderzoek gebruikten een of meer geneesmiddelen (kalmeer- of slaapmiddelen, pijnstillers of stimulerende geneesmiddelen) in verschillende contexten, en hun gebruikspatronen en -motieven varieerden. Geneesmiddelen werden voornamelijk gebruikt voor zelfmedicatie (bv.: stressvermindering), prestatieverbetering (bv.: studieredenen) en soms voor recreatieve doeleinden (bv.: nieuwsgierigheid). De jongeren verkregen de geneesmiddelen voornamelijk gratis van vrienden en familieleden of gebruikten hun eigen voorgeschreven medicatie. Slechts een minderheid kocht de geneesmiddelen op illegitieme wijze aan.

Une étude menée par l'Université de Gand, la Haute école VIVES et l'Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles montre que l'usage non médical de médicaments psychoactifs chez les jeunes adultes est un phénomène hétérogène. Les jeunes adultes (18-29 ans) participant à l'étude ont utilisé un ou plusieurs médicaments (sédatifs, somnifères, analgésiques ou stimulants) dans différents contextes, et leurs modes de consommation et leurs motifs variaient. Les médicaments étaient principalement utilisés pour l'automédication (p.ex. : réduction du stress), l'amélioration des performances (p.ex. : études) et parfois à des fins récréatives (p.ex. : curiosité). Les jeunes ont principalement obtenu les médicaments gratuitement auprès d'amis et de parents ou ont utilisé leurs propres médicaments prescrits. Seule une minorité a acheté les médicaments illégalement.
