Naast de langtermijn onderzoeksprogramma's financiert BELSPO eveneens een aantal prioritaire impuls-onderzoeksinitiatieven, ter ondersteuning van het federaal beleid.
Een groot deel van deze impulsacties in de periode 2021-2026 wordt gefinancierd in het kader van het Herstart- en Transitieplan (HTP), een van de drie onderdelen van het Herstel- en Investeringsplan van de federale regering. Doel van dit plan is onze economie zuurstof te geven en de omslag te maken naar een duurzame en digitale samenleving in de context van de pandemie.
In het licht van het HTP werd 45,2 M€ toegekend aan federaal wetenschapsbeleid ter ondersteuning van onderzoek. Aan de hand van deze financiering effent de federale regering de weg voor de ontwikkeling van innoverende oplossingen voor de huidige en toekomstige maatschappelijke uitdagingen en stelt zij het federale wetenschapsbeleid in staat haar rol te blijven spelen door bij te dragen tot de besluitvorming en de onderzoekscapaciteit van de federale wetenschappelijke instellingen (FWI's) te versterken.
Eind 2021 heeft BELSPO de financiering verzekerd van een aantal prioritaire impuls-onderzoeksinitiatieven ter ondersteuning van het federaal beleid:
Onderzoek rond de restitutie van cultureel erfgoed verworven in de Belgische koloniale periode (KMMA)
Het Metissen project rond de rol van de burgerlijke en kerkelijke autoriteiten bij de behandeling van metissen van Belgisch koloniale oorsprong (ARA)
De haalbaarheidsstudie voor de opzet van een expertisecentrum rond de barcoding van beleidsrelevante organismen en weefsels (KBIN en KMMA)
Het project rond de opzet van een Hydrogen Test Facility for scientific and applied research, dat de verschillende faciliteiten kan huisvesten die nodig zijn om op grote schaal experimentele tests met waterstoftechnologieën uit te voeren (VKI)
In de loop van 2022 zullen bijkomende impulsinitiatieven worden gelanceerd in het kader van het Herstart- en Transitieplan (HTP), een van de drie onderdelen van het Herstel- en Investeringsplan van de federale regering.
Om de zichtbaarheid van deze acties te garanderen werd een speciale webstek aangemaakt waar de voortgang en de resultaten van de projecten kunnen worden geraadpleegd.
